Branding
What exactly is branding? Today's customers think of branding as that creative thing companies do with a name of a product or service. It is the way a company promotes their product by creating visual packaging, logo, catchy jingle or keyword that aids the consumer in identifying who it belongs too; result: Identity. Branding can be as basic as a specific color scheme or graphic used on all their print, television or collateral materials to long-term slow media campaigns with radio, television or print.
How many of us will pick a movie to rent by it's cover or go see one at the theater solely by a movie trailer? Probably quit a few. These are branding techniques to get the consumer to use their instincts on what they want to purchase by a visual impression. These properties are the same concept of what quality marketing is all about, getting your customers/consumers to make a visual decision on doing business with you, rather your competitor.
